America: home of the free

So today I set off to the USA for 10 days (not including flying), it's my first time there so I'm so excited. I'm going to New York and stopping over in Washington D.C, my mum has relatives there who I am looking forward to meeting.
Similar OOTD as last time I went out with friends but with a black t-shirt this time, I'm going to wear this with white peep toe shoes even though I hate my toes being on show.
My hand luggage, though I usually use this as a handbag type thing. £9 from primark so it's plastic, but it's lasted me a year which is great.

I won't be able to post much while I'm there but I'll do a big post when I come back, probably a haul type thing.

Bye for now :)

Products I've used up

So I don't know if other people do this but I tend to nearly finish a product, buy a new one and start using that but I don't finish the other one so I've decided to share the products that I've found which have not been finished but now I've thrown a couple away tonight.

1. Boots Cucumber Moisturiser Lotion
I really like this product, it's inexpensive and leaves my skin feeling velvety smooth, plus it smells of cucumber so I feel fresh and clean afterwards, would recommend. I have sensitive skin and it seems to work fine on my skin, so if you're a fellow person with skin that can't handle harsh products then buy this :)

2. Boots Cucumber Cleansing Lotion (notice a pattern?)
Again, this is a nice product. It's not harsh on my skin, and even though it's not a moisturiser it does leave my skin feeling smooth and fresh, it's also inexpensive. I apologise now for not knowing the price exactly because my mum bought it and it was a while ago, but I'm pretty certain it was under £3.

3. Fade Out White Original Moisturising Cream
Now here's a product that was quite expensive, my mum actually used most of it and gave me the remains because I was in need of something to fade my spot scars. Honestly it didn't work too well, I think you need a large amount and to use it consistently. I'm glad my Mum paid for it and not me because I would be peeved that it didn't work, my mum thought it was good for 'melting' spots though so maybe it works for some and not others. It has a weird smell, it's not unpleasant but it's strange like kind of disinfectant with something else, I don't know how to describe it, if you ever smell it you'll know what I mean.

4. No. 7 soft and soothed gentle cleanser
This is a good cleanser, it came in a box set with a toner and a make up remover but I threw out the toner a long time ago and the makeup remover still has quite a lot in it. It's an expensive brand so you expect quality, it's not harsh and it makes my skin feel soft. It's for normal/dry skin so I assume it has similar ingredients to moisturiser in it for that.

5. Rimmel Exaggerate waterproof eye definer
This is your basic run of the mill eyeliner I think, unless I'm an idiot and don't know what a definer is. I thought it worked quite well, didn't smudge and stayed on for a whole school day. Unlike a pencil it swivels so you can swivel as much of the eyeliner out as you want which is pretty cool. This was £2.99 I think so a pretty decent price, it lasted a few months for me because I wear eyeliner everyday for school and I only go 'natural' at home.

6. Simple Soothing Facial Toner
What I really like about this toner is how compact it is, perfect for holidays (it's a shame I came to the end of this one when I go on holiday tomorrow but ah well), this clears the dirt out of your pores and leaves you with a lovely clean feeling. It doesn't have a specific scent, it's just a bit like alcohol, like a normal toner haha. I think you can get this in big bottles but I haven't, I think I bought this from savers so it would've been cheap anyway but savers reduces it further so I think it was a bargain, can't remember the price though.

GCSE Results Day

Waking up at 8:15am was definitely a bad start to my day, especially considering I fell asleep at 3:30am. I felt so sick.
I don't look sick in the photo but I was feeling very nauseous, I wore my primark saved by the bell t-shirt with my black primark shorts and I don't know where I accumulated the grey tights. I wore this with my burgundy primark vans.

So I was walking to school where I met up with Aleesha and we anxiously waited for my other friends, when we went into school and saw my results, the first thing I exclaimed was: I PASSED SCIENCE! I was so happy because my science teacher used my year as guinea pigs for the hardest course - IGCSE Cambridge.. Only private schools tend to do it, so many people failed and most people got a C and few got an A.

I got 7As 2Bs 2Cs and a distinction, I also got another 2Bs in maths but I did that two years ago so it's not on here. I'm very happy with my results especially considering how the grade boundaries changed. I'm even happier knowing I'm going to the USA tomorrow, hope that you've all had good results and have a lovely day!

My (minuscule) perfume collection

Hello there Internet friends, I was talking to my friends yesterday about perfume and telling them how I only owned like one which is Justin Bieber's 'someday' - BEFORE YOU JUDGE ME, I don't like him anymore, I went through a phase but now he doesn't faze me (see what I did there), plus the perfume has a pretty bottle.. Anyway, I decided to count how many perfumes I had and I have a grand total of 4. I have body sprays and a few roll on fragrances (wasn't sure to mention that so I haven't) but not much perfume, the reason being is that I forget to wear it so I usually only have it because it was a present. Anyway, on with the show.

1. Justin Bieber's 'Someday
Whilst I am an ex-belieber and shouldn't still have this, I do because it smells floral and sweet, my Mum thinks it has an after-smell of coconut but it's quite subtle and I can't really smell it. The bottle is also really pretty, it has little charms on them, the first one is a Purple Heart that says I love you (thanks Justin) and an envelope that says JB on it, but you can remove the charms if you just like the bottle which I think it just beautiful.

2. Butterfly from Marks and Spencer
I'm not sure how to describe this, it's sweet and sort of fruity, I must've really liked it in the past because I've used like 3/4 of it whereas the other perfumes are almost full, the bottle is simple and has a little picture of a butterfly so if you're buying perfume for bottle appearance I would not go for this one but the scent is nice.

3. Glee perfume
Meh, nothing special. I may be biased excuse upon rediscovering this I found the body lotion it came with and it was unopened so I opened it to try it and it was all liquid, and it smelled like shampoo. This perfume just smells like febreeze or something like that, sort of a fresh scent but I can barely smell it. The bottle is quite boring but it's rounded to make it look more posh and sophisticated than the perfume. I got this for Christmas when glee was new and I was obsessed, I still like glee but I didn't watch series 4 religiously like the other series, I would watch it if I had an hour to kill but I am going to watch series 5 to see how they kill off Finn's character and I heard they're doing a Beatles tribute which I'd be interested to see. Whilst I'm mentioning glee, R.I.P Cory Monteith you were gone too soon, whilst you weren't my favourite character on glee because Finn was an arse you seemed down to earth on interviews.

4. 'Miracle forever' by Lancôme Paris
This isn't a spray which I guess for me is a downside, you pour it on and rub it around I think. It smells quite sweet but sort of musky at the same time if that makes sense, I don't think it blends with my essential oils well because it smells sort of chicken-y on further inspection. That annoys me with perfumes, it can smell lovely with the air but it may not blend with your body oils, I think it's a nice perfume but not for me. The bottle is purple with a silver lid which isn't particularly pretty but it's quite nice.

Overall I think the best perfume is Justin Bieber's 'Someday' with its lovely floral smell and nice bottle. Coming second is 'butterfly' by marks and spencer because it's sweet and a bit fruity but the bottle is a bit boring. Thirdly, 'miracle forever' by Lancôme Paris which is a nice sweet scent but didn't blend with my body oils. In last place, the glee perfume which has a very subtle scent, I don't think any thought was put into it but it was just a way to squeeze more money out of the show.

Thanks for reading, have a lovely day!

OOTD August 20th

It's a sunny day so I've decided to wear my new look pinafore which I mentioned in my Summer favourites with a basic primark V neck. I prefer a more rounded neck but I haven't purchase a rounded white t-shirt and my black one is in the wash, I am styling this with my white DMs and some black socks which will go a bit over the top of the DMs, it's quite a summery outfit but in the winter I'll wear my black DMs with tights and a pale grey primark cardigan which I've tied around my waist because it's warm but it gives me a nicer figure. I'm meeting up with my friends today, to plan when we're going in for results day on Thursday and to have a leaving do for my friend Tanya who's moving to Essex

So above is a picture of me with no shoes or cardigan.

Above is me with the cardigan, it's a basic cheap primark cardigan but it is a lovely cardigan for summer because it's thin and soft.

Above are my white patent DMs which I love to pieces, they are a bit warm for summer but I don't have many white shoes.

My makeup is simple cat flicks with mascara, have a lovely day :)

Summer Favourites

1. Primark goodies from May/June
    - Star Wars shirt (£6)
    - Nirvana shirt (£8)
    - cosy socks (£2.50?)
    - frilly socks (£1.50)
    - Bambi shirt (£6)
    - high waisted shorts (£10)

I really love everything here, I bought all of the shirts baggy so I could tuck it into a skirt or my shorts which brings me onto the shorts but unfortunately I don't think high waisted shorts are for me because I'm quite tall and I don't want to look like a giant but these shorts are still quite nice with an oversized hoodie to make me look a bit more petite. I really love wearing the frilly socks with canvas shoes or converses and a skirt because I think it looks quite cute, and the cosy socks are great because my feet get cold really easily so I only have bare feet when it's very warm.

2. More Primark goodies and HMV band   merch
    - queen night at the opera shirt (£4.99?)
    - the Beatles rubber soul shirt (£5)
    - saved by the bell shirt (£8)
    - primark burgundy imitation vans (£6)

I really love band merch type shirts to tuck into shorts or skirts, and my favourite band is the Beatles so seeming as it was on sale it was a must have, I also love queen and bohemian rhapsody is on night at the opera which is my favourite queen song (and possibly of all time), though the stitching is really weird because it looks like it's inside out but I still like it. The saved by the bell shirt is from primark, saved by the bell is an amazeballs show and although I guess I'm not a true 90s kid I still watched it when I was younger and I watch the episodes online now, A.C Slater is such a babe, it was in the men's section so baggy again, it's rather baggy so I could wear it with leggings and my imitation vans. I really love the imitation vans, I already had a blue pair and a black pair but these ones would suit my hoodies and I think can go with a lot of colours but I think looks best with black and white clothes, surprisingly durable shoes for £6!

3. Primark OOTD
    - denim skirt (£10??)

Wearing the rubber soul shirt, I LOVE this skirt - best purchase I have ever made because I've worn it so much, it doesn't really go with grey tops though unless they're pale grey unfortunately, could just be me who thinks that though, goes great with white tops especially.

4. More band merch
     - Morrissey shirt (???)

My parents bought me this shirt, it's extremely baggy because it's a large but I love wearing it around the house, I can tuck it into shorts and I think it would look nice with a black skirt, Morrissey is one of my favourite singers and his lyrics are breathtaking.

5. New Look Sale
    - floral pinafore (£7)

I was shopping with my mum looking for a pinafore, I was looking for a plain one but my mum found this one which was cheaper and prettier, I think it works well with tight fitting tops but it's so pretty and I think it works best with DMs or white shoes perhaps?

6. Miss Sporty Makeup
    - eyeliner (£2.99)
    - pump up mascara (£3.99)

Great value makeup, the mascara clumps up a tiny bit but for the price I am not complaining, it really volumizes my eyelashes and the eyeliner is just a basic necessity for me, it stays on all day pretty much but smudges a bit, I blink a hell of a lot though so that could be why.

Sorry it was so long, hope you enjoyed it, have a lovely evening and I shall make another blog post in the future I guess :-)

16, clumsy and shy

um yeah hi I'm called Bess, I'm 16, I'm not very interesting so I don't know why I made a blog but yeah um I play piano, guitar, I dabble with vocals.... My favourite bands are The Beatles, The Smiths, Ben Folds Five, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis etc. I also like Lana Del Rey and Marina and the Diamonds um I like lots of music to be frank so if I listed all the bands and musicians I liked I'd probably go on too long. I live in North West London but I've moved quite a few times in my lifetime. So I said that I like a lot of music but I'm also a film enthusiast, my family have a movie night every Saturday so my parents introduce me to interesting movies, I think my favourite movie is probably Back to the Future and Michael. J. Fox is a huge inspiration to me. I don't know what else to say, I don't know what I'm gonna post on here so stay tuned :-)
