Collective haul June 2014 - Primark, Superdrug, Boots and more

Hello readers, if you hadn't read my last post you may not be aware that I made a new blog, I just uploaded a collective haul on there (youtube/lookbook/swatches type stuff) so if you'd like to watch that/read that please click here - I will not be doing any proper posts on this blog anymore, and I explained why in my last post.

Thanks for reading, if you want to see more posts then please go over and follow my new blog because I'm putting in so much more effort now :)

New blog????

Hello there reader :)
I said in my last post that I was considering making a new blog and I did.. in fact on that very same day and I've been busy designing it and making it look nice, also I've had exams which finished yesterday which is awesome. I just thought I would quickly say why I made a new blog so you don't feel out of the loop and you'll perhaps be persuaded to follow my new one?

When I started blogging, I was so full of energy and I put so much effort into my posts and hence my followers number increased and I got comments on most of my posts, but somewhere along the way my effort dwindled and now I see that this showed up in my posts with the relentless tags, lack of informative posts, all that jazz.. so I made a new blog in the hopes that I can rekindle my love of blogging and I'm going to try very hard to put as much effort as I can into each post.

I also wanted to change the style of my posts a bit to match my youtube videos, so rather than doing a haul in the form of a blog post, I'll do a video and then maybe attach the video to a blog post and do a look book in that post so I'm offering something more to you. I feel I should say that primark hauls will definitely still be a reoccurring thing in my blog/youtube (I'm planning on going tomorrow, in fact that's one of the reasons I decided to hurry up and write this post)

So I hope I've made it clear why I decided to make a new blog, and I hope you'll feel tempted to follow it here or if you're reading it via a mobile device and cannot access the link then here - http://bsarahoates.blogspot.co.uk/

Thanks for reading, we had a good run on this blog but I think it's time to make some better posts - don't you agree???

Collective January Haul 2014 ft. Isabella: Primark , New Look,Superdrug and More ♡

Hello there people, I have been shopping a few times in January so I thought I would show you what I have gotten as on each trip I haven't bought a great deal but together it makes a substantial haul. I went out with Isabella yesterday and got some cool stuff, we also baked brownies so I might do a separate blogpost with the recipe on there :)

1. Beatles Shirt (Primark) - £8
Frilly Dolly Socks (Primark) - £1.50 each
Hello Kitty and Tatty Teddy Socks (B&M) - 99p each

I didn't buy this with Isabella but I thought I would still show it, I've had quite the obsession with socks recently because I've gotten some Dr Marten shoes which show off my socks so I've come to the realisation that I need more socks. I love love love Hello Kitty and Tatty Teddy, and I think frilly socks are nice to wear if you're wearing 'grown up' type clothes or bands shirts because then it shows you're mature but a bit childish too.

2. Pop Tarts t-shirt (New Look) - usually £12.99 but with student discount it was about £10.37
I found this shirt in New Look and although I've sort of made a new years resolution to buy less t-shirts, I felt I had to buy this because anyone who knows me knows that pop tarts are one of my favourite things in the world, it has gotten to the point where people who I barely know in sixth form will come up to me just to tell me that they tried pop tarts, pictures are 3 types of pop tarts: chocolate chip cookie dough, blueberry and chocolate chip which were all £3.50 in tesco, one of them Isabella gave me for Christmas but I'll get onto what she gave me for Christmas later :)

3. Clueless (B&M) - £2.99
    Tatty Teddy Socks (B&M) - 99p
B&M isn't a shop I see everywhere, in fact I only know of two but if you know of one you really need to go there because you can get practically everything there at reduced prices. Even pop tarts! Unfortunately there weren't any when I went with Isabella yesterday. I picked up Clueless because me and Isabella started watching it the last time we met up but we didn't finish it and we watched the last half hour yesterday, I just thought I'd buy it because it's a good price and a film I feel I should own and it can take a place next to Mean Girls. I've already explained my newfound obsession for childish socks so I won't go into more details.

4. Baby Lips (Superdrug ) - £2.99 each but in a deal that was like buy one get one half price
Free sample of Nivea Deodorant (Superdrug)
I have wanted Baby Lips for what feels like forever, you can see this in one of my old wishlists. I have heard from reviews and people I know that these two are the most popular, I really like the idea of them because they smell good and tint your lips but feel more like a lip balm than a lipstick. Isabella got the peach flavour which is funny because her nickname is peaches and she picked it up without knowing it was peaches. We got offered a free sample of this deodorant too, my Mum brought up the point that it may have been offered to us because we smell but obviously I accepted it and I think it's a nice compact size so I can keep it in my bag for school or satchel for when I go out. If you want a review of baby lips I can do that so comment below if you'd like to see that :)

5. Frilly dolly socks (Primark) - £1.50
Alice in Wonderland Socks (Primark) - £2.50
I picked up some more dolly socks (I think that's what they're called) in an off-white colour because I already have white ones, black ones, and grey ones. I figure if I can get at least 7, I can wear them everyday. I've seen loads of people pick up the Disney socks in primark and I was very tempted, they had Snow White, the Little Mermaid, Bambi, Tinkerbell and these. I would've bought them all had they not been £2.50 each because that's a lot for socks and I would've ended up spending over a tenner, but these feel so soft, I'm a little worried about whether the colour will wash out but oh well.

6. Lolita glasses (Poundland) - £1
Me and Isabella just like buying accessories when we go out even if we're not going to wear them again, these are not quite Lolita glasses because the shades aren't black but they're close enough and we were both reading Lolita at the same time plus it reminded us of Lana Del Rey who we both love.

7. Isabella's Christmas Presents to me
I would've included my Christmas presents from Isabella and Antoinette in my Christmas Haul but we didn't exchange Christmas presents until last week but I still wanted to show you. Isabella bought me a box of the pop tarts from America, that sounds stupid because they're all from America but some of them are cheaper because they're sold in England more but these ones aren't so yay! Also she bought me a Winnie the Pooh toy and a Roo toy which is so cute, I was with her when she bought them and they are in a deal at the moment, they were like £6.99 each which is amazing for Disney toys plus they're fairly big.

8. Antoinette's Christmas Present to me
What you may or may not know is that me and my friends are obsessed with Harry Potter, especially after going to the tours (which you can see a blogpost about here) and I am completely and utterly in love with Draco Malfoy (and Tom Felton) so now I have a cushion.. with his face on.. in my bed.. which is great :D

9. Black Cardigan (Primark) - £10 but charged £5
First things first, I am a bit confused about the price of this. Before I picked it up, I thought it would be £12 or £14 like all Primark cardigans but then it said £10 which was a pleasant enough surprise, then they only charged me £5 at the counter which is such a bargain. I bought it two sizes too big so it's really cosy and baggy, I wanted one just like this as I mentioned in my wishlist so that's awesome.

10. The food me and Isabella bought..
Before you judge us, we really didn't eat that much from here, I reckon we were hungry when we bought it because we ended up dividing most of it up and I took it home, we used some of the chocolate to make brownies which tasted so good and I'm thinking of doing a recipe blogpost on those, if you want to see that please comment, we spent the rest of our day after shopping watching the end of Clueless and watching Ferris Bueller's day off as well as making brownies.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed seeing what I've bought over the last month :)

Tag Tuesday #3: The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag ♡

Hello there people of the internet!
So for the third instalment of Tag Tuesday, I have decided to do the procrastinating beauty blogger tag which I saw here. It looked like an interesting tag and I will tag some people to do these tags each week or whenever I do an instalment if I have been particularly enjoying their blog recently or would like to see them answer these questions :)

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do?
I never really use eye-shadow on my eyelids, I use a bit of dark brown to fill in my eyebrows but I haven't really used eye-shadow where it's meant to be used since I was about 14. I still cringe when I think about how I used to overload on the black eye-shadow when I was 12, it wasn't so bad when I aged a bit but I think it's too much to use on a day to day basis and if I do use it it has to be neutral colours.

2. Is washing your make-up brushes something that you do regularly?
I procrastinate so much that I have even put off buying make-up brushes! Honestly though, I don't feel that I really need make-up brushes. I don't wear foundation and my concealer only goes in a few places, plus I've read lots of things saying that it makes the make-up look cakey. I can almost guarantee that if I did have some they would not get cleaned very often..

3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
I hate the look and feel of chipped nail polish on my nails so much that I restrain from using nail polish in the first place, if my nail polish has chipped I usually take it off within a day.

4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?
Just until the next time I go out, I wouldn't make a trip to specifically buy something like mascara or eye liner because I have spares that I can turn to - that's smart thinking right there.

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
I don't have any particularly bad ones but if my mascara or eye liner has smudged and I'm in a rush I'll just use concealer to cover it because I am lazy.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?
Besides from homework and revision? (Mock results are out this week..) I put off going off my laptop in the evenings until I've spent half an hour extra on there than I meant to staring vacantly at my tumblr dashboard, I also put off changing my bed covers, I am literally so bad at changing my bed covers because they keep springing off - I've managed to get my time down to ten minutes though.

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready to the last minute?
No not at all, I hate being late and I want my make-up to look its best so I want to have time to re-do it if I have to.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
I could but I don't feel I need to, I don't buy top end make-up and my make-up lasts me for quite a long time. I'm not too adventurous with make-up so I usually find a cheaper brand that I like (I really like miss sporty..) and stick with that, then I am usually given make-up for my birthday or Christmas that tides me over for a while.

9. How organized is your make-up and nail polish collections?
My make-up is organised sort of in a make-up bag, my nail polish is not very organised at all.. I have my make-up bag and my sprays of sorts and my nail polish in a tray type of thing so I know where it is but it doesn't look organised, I also have nail polishes in a shelf cubicle type thing above my bed (which I bang my head on a lot) but my nail polish collection doesn't feel very organised.

I tag:
Abbie
Amy

I have been quite enjoying their blogs over the last week so go and check them out :)

Thanks for reading, I am thinking of ending my Tag Tuesday series after next week because I have been doing it for 3 weeks and I'm not enjoying it as much as I hoped I would. I should be doing some sort of haul on the weekend hopefully and perhaps an empties post soon though so I'll keep you posted

Music Monday #2

Hello there! So I've only done one music Monday post before, and I was going to make it a weekly thing for me but I didn't because I usually listen to the same songs for ages and then get into some new songs gradually but it's gotten to the point where I have completely new tracks that I'm listening to :)

1. Boy's Don't Cry - The Cure

This is a 'mainstream' song by The Cure, and I hadn't really listened to them before but I really love this song and I'm ashamed I didn't get into them sooner. The guitar part is reminiscent of The Smiths for me and the song in general sounds a bit like The Smiths (at least I think so) but it's a great song.

2.Wild World - Cat Stevens

I had heard this song ages ago but I've been listening to it basically on repeat at the moment, it reminds me a lot of skins (generation 1 if you don't know but you probably do) and I like watching the skins version too but the Cat Stevens one has a lot more heart, it was at this point I realised my music taste is basically the same as my parents (I'm a cool kid I know)

3. Hard out Here - Lily Allen

A while ago, Isabella and I did a vlog where we were featured singing this song. Lily Allen has made a comeback and I am so happy. She is so satirical and funny and that's why I like the song because it's done ironically, I am looking forward to hear more music from her because I missed her when she left the music scene.

4. Royals - Lorde

Okay another mainstream song, so let the hipsters shoot me. I like Lorde's style, it reminds me a bit of Lana Del Rey and this song is just a bit of fun. Also, my philosophy teacher recommended this song to our class and I don't recall anyone in my philosophy class really paying much attention but then she became really famous, my philosophy teachers are amazing just saying.

5. Howl's Moving Castle Theme

I don't know if it's a bit unorthodox to put in film music in a Music Monday post but I have been listening to this non-stop, and I've printed off the sheet music and I've been learning it on the piano because it's that beautiful. I absolutely love studio ghibli, and this film is so lovely. I'm slowly building up my studio ghibli DVD collection (cough cough Santa) but the music in all of the studio ghibli films is really lovely to be honest.

Thanks for reading, I didn't feel I should mention this but I've also been loving the Harry Potter soundtrack after doing the tours and watching the films :)

My 17th Birthday ♡♡♡

So for my 17th Birthday Party I did the cutest thing in the world and it sounds like a 5 year old's birthday party and to be honest it did sort of turn out like that but anyway it was lots of fun. I did a Disney themed fancy dress party and we just watched Disney movies all day (we only really got through 3 but I have loads so for us to watch all of them my friends would have to move in for the next month and give up school). Our costumes looked pretty good and I thought it was a shame that we may not get another chance to wear them so I thought I'd share them on here :)

The Movies we got through were: Finding Nemo, Beauty and the Beast, and Hunchback of Notre Dame (no one really seemed that interested in that besides me, Isabella and Antoinette so we finished watching it once everyone else had gone home)

From left to right:
Top: Queen of Hearts, Piglet, Belle, Pocahontas
Middle: Tigerlily, Snow White, Kanga/Roo, Tinkerbell
Bottom: (just me by myself cry lonely life) Esmerelda

It was a really lovely day and a nice way to celebrate my birthday :)

If you want to check out Tigerlily, Tinkerbell or Kanga's Blog then click on their names, bye thanks for reading :)
