Collective haul June 2014 - Primark, Superdrug, Boots and more

Hello readers, if you hadn't read my last post you may not be aware that I made a new blog, I just uploaded a collective haul on there (youtube/lookbook/swatches type stuff) so if you'd like to watch that/read that please click here - I will not be doing any proper posts on this blog anymore, and I explained why in my last post.

Thanks for reading, if you want to see more posts then please go over and follow my new blog because I'm putting in so much more effort now :)

primark haul april 2014 // youtube video ♡

Hello there :) so I thought that instead of doing a primark haul in a blogpost, I would do it in video form to see how it goes because in some ways I prefer doing that (despite the fact I mess up my words a lot and had to edit quite a bit out - seriously wow) but if you'd like to watch then click away and enjoy :)

I'm really sorry if you don't like Primark Hauls in the form of the video, if you'd prefer it in the form of a blogpost then please leave a comment saying so and I'll take it into consideration in the future :)

Collective January Haul 2014 ft. Isabella: Primark , New Look,Superdrug and More ♡

Hello there people, I have been shopping a few times in January so I thought I would show you what I have gotten as on each trip I haven't bought a great deal but together it makes a substantial haul. I went out with Isabella yesterday and got some cool stuff, we also baked brownies so I might do a separate blogpost with the recipe on there :)

1. Beatles Shirt (Primark) - £8
Frilly Dolly Socks (Primark) - £1.50 each
Hello Kitty and Tatty Teddy Socks (B&M) - 99p each

I didn't buy this with Isabella but I thought I would still show it, I've had quite the obsession with socks recently because I've gotten some Dr Marten shoes which show off my socks so I've come to the realisation that I need more socks. I love love love Hello Kitty and Tatty Teddy, and I think frilly socks are nice to wear if you're wearing 'grown up' type clothes or bands shirts because then it shows you're mature but a bit childish too.

2. Pop Tarts t-shirt (New Look) - usually £12.99 but with student discount it was about £10.37
I found this shirt in New Look and although I've sort of made a new years resolution to buy less t-shirts, I felt I had to buy this because anyone who knows me knows that pop tarts are one of my favourite things in the world, it has gotten to the point where people who I barely know in sixth form will come up to me just to tell me that they tried pop tarts, pictures are 3 types of pop tarts: chocolate chip cookie dough, blueberry and chocolate chip which were all £3.50 in tesco, one of them Isabella gave me for Christmas but I'll get onto what she gave me for Christmas later :)

3. Clueless (B&M) - £2.99
    Tatty Teddy Socks (B&M) - 99p
B&M isn't a shop I see everywhere, in fact I only know of two but if you know of one you really need to go there because you can get practically everything there at reduced prices. Even pop tarts! Unfortunately there weren't any when I went with Isabella yesterday. I picked up Clueless because me and Isabella started watching it the last time we met up but we didn't finish it and we watched the last half hour yesterday, I just thought I'd buy it because it's a good price and a film I feel I should own and it can take a place next to Mean Girls. I've already explained my newfound obsession for childish socks so I won't go into more details.

4. Baby Lips (Superdrug ) - £2.99 each but in a deal that was like buy one get one half price
Free sample of Nivea Deodorant (Superdrug)
I have wanted Baby Lips for what feels like forever, you can see this in one of my old wishlists. I have heard from reviews and people I know that these two are the most popular, I really like the idea of them because they smell good and tint your lips but feel more like a lip balm than a lipstick. Isabella got the peach flavour which is funny because her nickname is peaches and she picked it up without knowing it was peaches. We got offered a free sample of this deodorant too, my Mum brought up the point that it may have been offered to us because we smell but obviously I accepted it and I think it's a nice compact size so I can keep it in my bag for school or satchel for when I go out. If you want a review of baby lips I can do that so comment below if you'd like to see that :)

5. Frilly dolly socks (Primark) - £1.50
Alice in Wonderland Socks (Primark) - £2.50
I picked up some more dolly socks (I think that's what they're called) in an off-white colour because I already have white ones, black ones, and grey ones. I figure if I can get at least 7, I can wear them everyday. I've seen loads of people pick up the Disney socks in primark and I was very tempted, they had Snow White, the Little Mermaid, Bambi, Tinkerbell and these. I would've bought them all had they not been £2.50 each because that's a lot for socks and I would've ended up spending over a tenner, but these feel so soft, I'm a little worried about whether the colour will wash out but oh well.

6. Lolita glasses (Poundland) - £1
Me and Isabella just like buying accessories when we go out even if we're not going to wear them again, these are not quite Lolita glasses because the shades aren't black but they're close enough and we were both reading Lolita at the same time plus it reminded us of Lana Del Rey who we both love.

7. Isabella's Christmas Presents to me
I would've included my Christmas presents from Isabella and Antoinette in my Christmas Haul but we didn't exchange Christmas presents until last week but I still wanted to show you. Isabella bought me a box of the pop tarts from America, that sounds stupid because they're all from America but some of them are cheaper because they're sold in England more but these ones aren't so yay! Also she bought me a Winnie the Pooh toy and a Roo toy which is so cute, I was with her when she bought them and they are in a deal at the moment, they were like £6.99 each which is amazing for Disney toys plus they're fairly big.

8. Antoinette's Christmas Present to me
What you may or may not know is that me and my friends are obsessed with Harry Potter, especially after going to the tours (which you can see a blogpost about here) and I am completely and utterly in love with Draco Malfoy (and Tom Felton) so now I have a cushion.. with his face on.. in my bed.. which is great :D

9. Black Cardigan (Primark) - £10 but charged £5
First things first, I am a bit confused about the price of this. Before I picked it up, I thought it would be £12 or £14 like all Primark cardigans but then it said £10 which was a pleasant enough surprise, then they only charged me £5 at the counter which is such a bargain. I bought it two sizes too big so it's really cosy and baggy, I wanted one just like this as I mentioned in my wishlist so that's awesome.

10. The food me and Isabella bought..
Before you judge us, we really didn't eat that much from here, I reckon we were hungry when we bought it because we ended up dividing most of it up and I took it home, we used some of the chocolate to make brownies which tasted so good and I'm thinking of doing a recipe blogpost on those, if you want to see that please comment, we spent the rest of our day after shopping watching the end of Clueless and watching Ferris Bueller's day off as well as making brownies.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed seeing what I've bought over the last month :)

Primark Haul November 2013 ♡

So I went to Primark today and I got some really lovely stuff so I thought I would share it with you all, I'm gonna warn you now I got 3 of the same thing (in different colours) so it's not that varied but hope you like it!

1. Christmas Clear LED lights (£1.50)
I've been looking for some lights to wind around my bed since I re-decorated in the summer and because it's christmas there are lights everywhere so I just picked these up, they're battery operated which is good as I don't have a socket near my bed, they make my room feel really cosy and lovely :) they also had a pack of 40 LED lights (This is 20) for £2.50 but I didn't want to pay the extra pound as I didn't feel I really needed it.

2. Black Skater Dress (£5)
One of my best purchases of the day (hence why I got it in 3 colours), it's really slimming and the bottom part is high waisted, it's really lovely basically and I think I may even be able to get away with this in the summer but in the winter I can put on some nice thick tights (keep reading) and my trusty Dr Martens and be away on an adventure.... at sixth form..

3. Burgundy Skater Dress (£5)
You didn't think I was joking when I said I got this in 3 colours did you? I really wanted a burgundy dress for autumn/winter because it's a really nice colour but I don't have a great deal of it in my wardrobe.

4. Navy Skater Dress (£5)
I haven't tried this on yet but I noticed I got this in the size up by accident, I don't think that's such a problem but I will try it on and if it looks really baggy and wrong then I'll return it and get it in a size down because I really like these dresses and I know I'll get lots of wear out of them.

5. Super Cosy Tights (£3.50)
I bet by now you're thinking 'thank heavens she's not going on about those damned skater dresses anymore'.. I picked up some more of these super cosy tights because they are basically the most amazing tights in the universe and that's probably an understatement. If you watch Zoella's videos you know that she picks up a lot of these, well I bought a pair like 3 weeks ago and basically haven't stopped wearing them since, I've actually gotten a few holes in them but they are in the toes and my Mum reckons she can repair them so yay! However I felt I needed another pair anyway because they do go a bit bobbly, but they're so lovely! You can get 200 denier for 50p less but these are fleece lined and thick and wonderful so why wouldn't you get these?????

6. Cosmetic Pads (£1)
Boring purchase I know, but I'm running out (I have about a third of one of the packs which I've had since September) but at least this will keep me going for a while.

7. Marilyn Monroe T-shirt (£6)
I really really like this t-shirt, I just hope the hipsters don't ruin it for me. I picked it up not seeing how many times it says 'how to marry a millionaire' but it's not actually specific to that film because there are pictures that aren't from that film, I just really love it. Marilyn Monroe had an interesting life and she is an icon, I love how  she just really wanted to learn and better herself and I think that's something we can all appreciate and relate to.

8. Winnie the Pooh Socks (£1) - Poundland
Okay so this isn't from Primark - so sue me, but I had seen some really cute Disney socks in Primark but they were £2.50 a pair so instead I went to Poundland and found a pair of socks - Poundland do some uber cute socks, I think I've bought a pair every time I've gone in there at the moment.

That's everything I bought, I hope you liked my haul. I'm going out tomorrow with Isabella so watch this space because there may or may not be a post...........

Collective Fashion Haul ft. Isabella ♡

So yesterday me and Isabella went shopping and we had originally planned to go to all the beauty stores and all the fashion stores but it just became fashion because we ran out of time and wanted to hurry back to Isabella's to make cakes (the vlog we made about that is here). Anyway, Isabella is going to write about the cake making on her page and I'm doing the haul here so make sure you click over to her page please because she's a new blogger and deserves 50000x more followers because she is a cutie.

What Isabella Bought:

 1. Grey Primark Cardigan/Jacket/Blazer (£14)
Isabella thought this was really cosy and it's lovely and baggy which is great for the autumn-winter season, I thought it was really cute how she said in Primark that her Mum is going to be stealing it from her and when we showed her Mum what we bought her Mum actually said she would be taking it. It doesn't have buttons on it but it had a clip type thing at the top but we thought it looked better open :)
 2. Primark Black Jumper Dress with White Collar (£12)
We picked this up thinking it was a jumper and we both commented on the cute collar, but we were wondering why it was so long and it turns out it is like a short dress and we were wondering whether it would look good or not, so Isabella tried it on and it looked perfect on her seriously and it wasn't itchy or anything. We went around the store feeling clothes to see if they were itchy, it's heartbreaking finding a nice jumper and then finding out how itchy it is :'(
 3. Primark Nail Wraps (£1 reduced to 50p)
Isabella saw these while we were waiting in the queue and just picked them up, I've heard some pretty decent reviews of these and you can't go wrong for 50p plus it saves messy nail polish accidents which I am prone to which is why 98% of the time I'm not wearing nail varnish. Is there a difference between nail polish and nail varnish? I should know right?..
 4. Poundland Doughnut Bun (£1 if you couldn't already guess..)
Isabella picked this up because she wants more volume in her hair, she has a really lovely face so her hair always looks nice in a bun. I love using these because you can get a nice evenly shaped bun (if you're like me and can't do neat ones then it looks like a 'messy' bun which is always great)
5. Not My Birthday Present From the Disney Store
We went to the Disney store for a few minutes just to look up the location of Isabella's bank and got lost in the cuteness of the store, one of the shop assistants actually came up to us and asked if we wanted help which means we must've looked a bit mad. If you watch the vlog then you'll see us in awe of it all, they had these adorable soft toys which I loved and if I ever get enough money I will buy them all and put them all in my bed and have a little disney family and kiss them all good night, anyway stay tuned as it's my birthday in about 3 weeks so I may do a birthday haul if I get anything ;)

What I bought:

1. Beatles Shirt From Primark (£8)
I saw this shirt when we walked into Primark for wave one and made a bee line towards the shirt, it's a 3/4 length which is quite good for the autumn-winter months because I have loads of band shirts but they're t-shirts and because they're baggy they're a bit awkward to layer but this is from the women's section (for once, 90% of my clothes are from the men's section) and it seems a bit baggy for a size 8 but it still seems pretty cool. I'm hoping my friends Khushboo and Lizzie don't notice the innuendo when I wear it to sixth form, I didn't notice until I had another look at it later but I still like it even though it's a bit different than what I would normally wear. This is a good top because you could wear it with jeans, shorts, skirts, all year round :)
 2. Primark 'the Little Mermaid' T-shirt (£6)
Quite possibly my best purchase of the day. It's rather bright but knowing me I'd wear quite neutral colours to co-ordinate it with so it'd cancel out. I know my philosophy teacher would love it because she's super cool and a Disney fanatic. If you watch my vlog you can tell that me and Isabella are also big Disney fans. I think this would look really cute tucked into a skater skirt. I got a size 10 but it's really baggy so I think either Primark is going mental with their sizing again or it's meant to be a baggy tee, the sleeves are rolled up which is quite cute too. I was dying from cuteness when I saw it, I love Disney so much I really need to acquire more Disney DVDs before all my VHS Disneys die on me :'( I did mention it's my birthday soon right?

 3. Primark Basic White 'Crew' Shirt (£2.50)
I've been wanting to get a new basic white shirt for quite a while but when I go out I sort of go like 'oh I can get this any time whereas this stock is going to run out' so I spend my money on something else but I saw it and just picked it up so I don't postpone it any longer. I accidentally picked up a V-neck which frustrates me because I didn't realise until taking the picture today however it doesn't look too bad and it's only £2.50. I got it in a small so it is a bit baggy but I didn't want an oversized shirt because I have loads of them and they're a bit awkward to coordinate with unless you're just wearing leggings around the house or tucking them into skirts and sometimes they don't look right tucked into skirts.
 4. New Look Black Jersey Skater Skirt (£12.99)
I've been wanting a basic black skirt for a long time because I have some baggy shirts that don't look right tucked into my denim skirt because they're grey and clash a bit so I bought this. It's lovely and thick and feels good quality. I did look in Primark first for a black skirt and I found some pleather ones which were alright but they didn't have them in my size so I have taken that as a blessing in disguise because after finding this one I thought this is going to last longer, be warmer, wash well and won't stick to my bottom when I sit down :) it comes with a nice little belt too which I might take out and use with jeans, but a lot of Primark clothes come with hideous belts so I might end up just chucking those in the back of my wardrobe and never using them but a nice black one like this will definitely get used.
5. Poundland Minnie Mouse Headband (£1.. if you hadn't already guessed)
We both got these and you can see pictures in this post. I saw it while having a little mosey around Poundland and picked up to try it on as a joke, and Isabella thought it looked cute so we both bought one and wore them all day. Contemplating whether I can get away with wearing it at school. The ears are made out of a foam type of material so I don't think they're the type of thing that can withstand rough handling but for a cute little memento of our day it was worth the purchase.

6. Poundland Hello Kitty Socks (£1, I'm not going to make my witty remark again)
Poundland have some adorable socks in right now. The last time I went in I bought some hello kitty slipper socks and tatty teddy socks, I was going to make a mini haul but I only had skincare and socks so I didn't think it was worth making a post about, but the socks are super cute! Do not poopoo poundland!

That is the entire haul, I hope you enjoyed it. Make sure you click over to Isabella's page and follow her because once she gets into the hang of blogging and has a bit more time of her hand she will probably be doing more posts like these, and she's going to do a post on the cute cakes we made. If you liked me doing a haul with someone else then please comment and say so I know to do it again, we've already planned one for the future but it's good to know people will enjoy it too. We really enjoyed doing a collaboration and it was such a lovely day so please give us an excuse to do it again :)

VLOG // Shopping, Disney and Pop Tarts ♡

So yesterday me and Isabella decided to go out to Watford and do some shopping, we were actually  planning this all week and we've been so excited to do a fashion haul. We were going to do a beauty haul too but we spent forever trying to find Isabella's bank (I actually knew where it was but I didn't realise it was the right bank) and we bought a lot of clothes so we thought we'd do a beauty haul the next time we hang out. I'm actually going to do the haul later because we bought quite a bit, but I'm going to post a little vlog here (my first ever) and show some cute pictures from throughout the day. We ended up doing some baking too because we found some cute cake decorations from poundland so we've been making Halloween cupcakes and I introduced Isabella to pop tarts, and we were watching Hercules all afternoon so it was a super cute day :)

If you click over to Isabella's page, there will be a post about the cakes we made, I'm currently in the process of editing the baking video so it won't be up yet. Hope you enjoyed our first vlog, sorry about the letterbox effect - I didn't know how to change it but hopefully I'll get a new camera and it won't be on there.. here are some pictures from our day :)

The folders were very tumblr-esque and we felt it needed to be photographed.

Thanks for reading/watching, if you enjoyed the vlog and want me to do it again please tell me as I might start uploading videos on youtube (hauls, favourites) as well as writing on here, what do you think?

Review | Primark Eyeliners

Hello there, I'm actually doing a beauty related post after what seems like far too many tags - I do apologise but I really enjoy doing them.. Ok, so I bought an eyeliner pen and two eyeliner pencils from Primark about a month ago and I have been using them all this week so I figure it's time to give you all the breakdown.

As you can see, the eyeliner pen was £1.50, they actually only charged me £1 at the counter though so I'm not sure whether it was a technical goof or the price was reduced but the sticker wasn't changed. The eyeliner pencils (which also came with a sharpener - ooh excitement!) were £1 which is really good value. I wasn't expecting any sort of good quality from these items but I was pleasantly surprised!

I was so surprised from this eyeliner, I honestly think it'll be a repeat purchase. It stays on basically all day, that's during school right up until late evening which is great because I wanted to find a long lasting eyeliner so that when I go to Thorpe Park with school (next week) for fright night I can be sure my makeup will stay on. I'm not going to lie it smudges a bit the longer you wear it but seriously for £1 can you really complain? It's a felt tip type of eyeliner and I've never actually seen these types before but from looking at other blogs I know they exist I'm probably just not looking for it when I go out or I'm just an idiot but I really like that because it makes winged/cat eye eyeliner come out much better. Obviously it still doesn't come out even because cat eye eyeliner can't ever come out evenly, it's just the rule. This is why I have to have a side parting, it's to cover up the dodgy eye..

The eyeliner pencil I used for the first time today, I would compare it to Rimmel eyeliner pencils. You know the £2.99 ones, I used to use those all the time but considering I got 2 for £1 (should've been £1.50 haha..) I think I'll change to this. I don't use a lot of pencil eyeliner anymore but it's nice to have a tiny bit to touch up your eyes I think. This does smudge a bit but no more than the Rimmel ones, that being said this didn't smudge too much and you get a nice strong black colour which is nice. Again, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Well Primark, I'm sorry I judged you before when it came to makeup. I always thought Primark makeup would have be come out in red patches and burning skin but no I have been pleasantly surprised. So to you snobby people out there who refuse to buy anything from Primark because you're too high and mighty for it, think again next time you walk past.
Thanks for reading :)

Review | Bendy Rollers ♡

Hello there you beautiful internet peoples you.
So a while ago I bought these 'bendy rollers' from Primark (Click Here to See the Haul) for £1.50 each because my Mum said they're really effective for curling your hair, so she bought them. I could already think of the benefits, they're foamy so they're not going to tug at your hair and there's no heat required. We bought two packets because my hair is relatively long.

So what I did (I've done this a few times now so I'm quite experienced ;) ) is take a bendy roller, roll some hair around it and twist the roller (it's bendy so it holds its place). I'm saying I did it, my Mum did it for me but that's what she did. I may not be explaining this well so I have a photo for you.

So the first time I did it, I left them in overnight after washing and blow drying my hair and the next morning I was left with springy curls! Unfortunately, it was a humid day so it went flat 5 minutes after I walked out the door, so no one at sixth form had even noticed a difference. So I did it again and left it in all weekend to see whether bendy rollers are ineffective or if it was just the humidity. So on Monday morning this happened...

You can tell how springy it is because my hair is usually quite a bit longer than that and lots of people thought I had cut my hair, this held all day. My only complaint is, and this is my fault for leaving it in all weekend, is that my hair felt quite dry because it was hard to massage moisturiser in over the weekend so it got a bit knotted. So if you do leave it in for extended periods of time, or just to be on the safe side - use moisturiser so it doesn't get knotted or tangly, or at least brush it through before you put it back in again.

The above picture is how it looked by the end of the day, it wasn't as short as it was before but that's my fault because I play with my hair and I pulled on it a lot. If you aren't a weirdo and you can leave your hair alone then it should stay springy all day.

Pros:
  • no heat
  • cheap
  • easy
  • long lasting
Cons:
  • can leave your hair feeling dry
  • hair can get tangled
Overall, a top notch product, even if you don't want curls you can brush it out and have voluminous hair. That's actually the main reason I wanted it curled because my hair has gotten much thinner recently for reasons I shall not delve into. So if you live near a Primark, you can pick them up for £1.50 a packet. If Primark is not accessible to you, then I think you can order some from Amazon/eBay and I bet you can get it from quite a few shops but as Primark is accessible to me I couldn't tell you which shops so I apologise.

Thanks for reading!

Primark Haul & a few other goodies ♡

So I went to Primark today and bought quite a few things, it's not a huge haul but I find that when shopping in there it always feel like you buy much less than you think. Anyway I shan't dilly dally, on with the show!

1. Hello Kitty Cosy Super Socks (£4)
This are adorable slipper type things to wear around the house, a bit much but they're so fluffy and cute and I know I'm gonna wear them a lot when it starts getting cold. Plus they're better quality than the usual primark cosy socks (which I love anyway), plus they're a bit more like slipper pumps than socks. Really love this though, I have an obsession with hello kitty but I can't buy many hello kitty things without being told by my parents that I look like a  5 year old - life is quite hard, but anyway this allows me to unleash my hello kitty-ness!

2. Indigo pinafore (£12)
I love love love love love this, it looks quite good quality for primark and I have wanted a pinafore for so long. I bought a floral one a while ago which I love but a plain one will go with more things, if you see this in the store there are two buttons on the strap to adjust it and I adjusted it to the tighter setting but don't get confused if you see this in the store!

3. Cream High Neck Lace Crop Top (£3)
This was reduced from £6, I don't wear crop tops because I hate my tummy (guess why..) but this is a lace top which I love and I can wear it with high waisted shorts or with a top underneath which will be nice.

4. Eclipz Argan Oil (£4)
I have had several friends telling me that I should be using this because my hair is so weird, I'm not Moroccan just so you know. I'm mixed race so my hair is a mix between afro because my Mum is Jamaican and like English type hair from my Dad's side, it's all frizzy at the front but it's long, also it doesn't feel soft and silky like English/Asian hair does but apparently this is great to repair your hair (ooh a rhyme, Dr Seuss would be se-seuss-ed, sorry if you don't understand I'm not too funny) and there's a relatively big tub in this box, there was also a small tube for £2.50 if you want to trial it but this tub is much better value.

5. Cotton Wool Makeup Removers (£1)
These came in a two pack so my mum has the other half, not much to say but it's a necessity and at the moment I had been using flannels to wash it off so I have stained flannels which I'm not happy about, plus cotton wool is less harsh on the skin. For a pound you can't go wrong.

6. Eye liner (£1 each)
I'm aware it says £1.50 but I got charged a pound each, I have never really used primark makeup but I use Constance Carroll which is a cheap brand and this is that bit cheaper so I might try it out and review it on here. I wear eyeliner practically everyday so it's a must have for me.

7. Bendy Rollers (£1.50 each)
I've never used these before but my mum has and she says they're better for your hair than curlers because they don't pull at it and attach to it in the same way, she also said it will help me with volumizing my hair so I'm willing to give it a go.

8. Peanut m&m's (£2) from Tesco
I've just been craving these to be honest, if you don't like them then why???? They are so nice I could cry.

9. The Naked Brothers Band Movie (£1) from Poundland
Cannot believe I found this, I LOVED the naked brothers band when I was younger and I love the similarities to The Beatles, not music wise exactly but the rooftop concert and stuff. I just cannot believe this I'm so glad I bought this.

10. Spy Kids 4 (£1) from Poundland
I got this because I wanted to finish my collection, plus this movie shows the kids from the other movies grown up which made my emotional when I watched in the cinema.

11. Bendy Bando (£1.50) another primark goodie, sorry I forgot to put this sooner!
I love this, I want to start putting my hair up but it's a bit boring without any decoration. Plus I love floral designs.

Thanks for reading!
